Centrale Nantes appoints Prof. Yuri Shtessel of the University of Alabama as Adjunct Professor

Yuri Shtessel, Emeritus Professor at the
University of Alabama
and of international renown, first came to Centrale Nantes in 2015 and 2018 as visiting professor at the invitation of the
LS2N
Control
team and the
Automatic Control and Robotics
Department.
Jean-Baptiste Avrillier, Director of Centrale Nantes, formally awarded the title of Adjunct Professor to Yuri Shtessel from 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2026.
This was followed by a discussion with Franck Plestan, Dean of Research at Centrale Nantes, Malek Ghanes, Éric Le Carpentier and Saïd Moussaoui, faculty members of the LS2N.
Over the 5-year period, Yuri Shtessel will spend at least 2 weeks per year at Centrale Nantes teaching and supervising the
E-Pico Master's program
whilst pursuing his research work and PhD co-supervision in collaboration with the Control research group, in the field of robust control and stability analysis, resilient control, and applications in electric power.
Adjunct Professors at Centrale Nantes
The school has set up this particular role in order to retain and optimise the contribution of a certain number of professors from outside the institution who have an international reputation.
